My qualifications
  • Honours degree in French, University of London.
  • Associate Membership of the Institute of Translation and Interpreting (UK).
  • Enthusiastic and experienced linguist with a career in education and management.
  • Extensive understanding of French institutions, culture, attitudes and practices.
  • Experienced in translating a wide range of texts, including formal and legal documents, and acting as an interpreter.
  • Taught French and was head of a modern languages department for many years in an independent school in London.
  • Moved to a management and pastoral role in John Lewis where I provided staff with advice and support and edited the in-house journal.
  • French resident for 4 years working as a translator and interpreter for an international estate agency.
